The Fullerton Festival
June 21st we headed to Fullerton, North Dakota for the festival. We stayed at the historic Carroll House. For more information and photos you can click here to visit their website. The place has been beautifully restored. Each room has it’s own unique decor. On the second floor there were 5 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. A key hangs in the door, you make your selection and you’re set. This ended up being the room we picked.
Here are a couple other rooms and a shot of the staircase.
Oh, and yes a shot of the bathroom.
The day of the festival started off as a gorgeous sunny day, families having a great time. We’re all setup, Barry Glynn started off the live music. Then came the weather reports and the dark clouds started rolling in. It was a scramble to get everything moved indoors, but with lots of help we managed to get it all moved inside without a second to spare! The show must go on right??!! The pouring rain turned into a bit of hail. There was water sitting everywhere. We set up one more time. Here’s a shot of Barry, Dana, Justin and Kelsey (making her debut on the stand up bass!!!)
Due to the weather and time we ended up only playing one set. I’m not sure if we were more rain or sweat soaked!!
Thank goodness for 4 wheel drive, because we needed it to get out of the park area!! Headed back to our room at the Carroll House. Did I mention there’s no AC there? So we sat in our vehicle just soaking up the AC! A shower felt so great after that!! We ended up just sitting on the front porch with a warm beer and listening to the next band. Life is good. Stay tuned for the next adventure.
